How a price is built

A price has three parts. Each part is a row with the date it takes effect, so the price of a payment is the row that was in force when the payment was made. We publish the structure here. Your rates are the ones in your agreement.

The three parts

  1. A fee on the payment

A percentage in basis points plus a fixed amount, in the currency of the payment. It is set by payment method and currency, and it can be set for one merchant.

  2. A spread on the rate

Basis points added to the aggregated mid rate: effective rate = mid × (1 + spread ÷ 10,000). It is set by payment method and currency. You choose the point where the rate locks: order, payment or channel settlement.

  3. A fee on a dispute

A fixed amount in US dollars, charged when a payment is disputed. Lemak pays nothing back to a payer outside a dispute.

The worked example

1,000.00 THB paid by PromptPay, from the PRODUCT specification. The figures are an example, not a tariff.

  1. Paid in

    1,000.00 THB

The payer's amount, in minor units from end to end.

  2. After the fee

    975.00 THB

    A payment fee of 2.5% plus 0: 25.00 THB.

  3. Rate

    35.28

A mid of 35.00 plus a spread of 80 basis points, kept to twelve places.

  4. Settled

    27.63 USD

975.00 ÷ 35.28 = 27.636…, rounded down. The remainder posts to the platform's FX account.

The PRODUCT specification's worked example prints 27.64. The owner ruled that conversion rounds down, so the merchant receives 27.63 and no fraction is left without an account. Money and the rate, in the specification
